1) You have a famous know-how concerning moulded boots, what is your manufacturing secret? Is a combination of passion for my job and technical knowledge as I’ve been a skater for over 25
years. It could sound strange but we are never satisfied of our results and
this is why we try to improve every year the quality of our skates. Every single step of production is done by a dedicated person who is totally responsible for his job. In addition having famous skaters as “customers” is a daily challenge for us. 1) 커스텀 부츠에서 좋은 제품을 생산하기로 유명한데, 제조에 있어서 특별한 노하우가 있다면?
특별한 노하우라면 25년동안 인라이너로 활동한 경험에서 우러나는 레이싱 인라인에 대한 기술적인 지식과 내 일에 대한 열정이 한 데 어우러진 것입니다.
2) Since when do you build inline boots?
The first pairs of boots have been made in 1997.
2) 언제부터 커스텀 부츠를 제작했나요?처음 만든 건 1997년입니다.
3) Why did you choose this job? My dream was working in sport-system world. In that period I was no longer satisfied in my job and so I took my chance. ‘Cause I had 31 years my sponsor was no longer interested in sponsoring me and I say “Let’s try…”
3) 왜 이 일을 선택했지요?내 꿈은 스포츠업계에서 계속 일하는 것이었습니다. 제가 이 일을 선택할 때 즈음에 프로 스케이터로서 더 이상 제 자신에 만족할 수 없었고 뭔가 새로운 걸 찾으려고 했습니다. 오랫동안 저의 스폰서를 자처했던 스폰서들이 더 이상 스폰하기를 꺼려하기도 했구요. 그래서 제 자신이 직접 스폰서가 되기로 맘을 먹었던 거죠.
4) We are waiting for the Mariani next season, who will integrate the team? We have now 4 team members: Stefano Galliazzo (3rd place 2006 European Championship), Patrizio Triberio (2006 World Champion), Garikoitz Lerga (European Champion Relay 2006), Andrea Bighin (2nd place world Championship 2005).
4) ’07 시즌에는 어떤 선수들이 마리아니 월드팀에서 활동하게 되나요?
네 명의 선수가 있습니다. Stefano Galliazzo (3rd place 2006 European Championship), Patrizio Triberio (2006 World Champion), Garikoitz Lerga (European Champion Relay 2006), Andrea Bighin (2nd place world hampionship 2005).
5) What is the aim of your team?
I believe that thanks to the teams revolution there are good chance for everybody to get good results. Our main goal is to win WIC races but I will be even happy if we could get the same result we had last year.
5) 마리아니 월드팀의 목표는?
지금 해체와 통합이 급속도로 이루어지는 프로팀의 상황이 모든 팀이나 선수들에게 더 높은 목표를 설정할 수 있는 기회라고 봅니다. 우리 팀의 목표는 물론 WIC 우승입니다만, 작년 만큼의 성적만 올린다면 만족할 겁니다.
6) You will come to Korea end of October...For sure is a good opportunity for me. I’ve heard many times from my friends Korean skater’s passion and I saw myself that when I was in korea in 2004 SWIC. Mariani customers are worldwide and I’m glad to have chance to meet them. See you soon Korean skaters.
